OT - Toronto recs for restaurants

The one time I decided to go, the moment I parked, the entire neighbourhood suffered from a major power outage. The store manager closed up shop and asked me to come back another time. I haven't been back since.

its novel for me , i liked it , but its kind of like recommending movies, something you like others may hate.

Great thread - I am a GTA'er (ex Toronto) and it's great to see so many places posted worth checking out. I don't make it in to the 'big city' as much as I would like to and hardly at all since Covid started but now I have some destinations. On the burger front I must admit that I am partial to Johnny's on Vic Park (yes I know they are frozen patties from Macgregors Meat) but I still like to hit it up once or twice a year on my way in/out of the city. Cheers.

Nowhere near Downtown Toronto, but have you ever tried Burgers Park across from Porsche Centre North Toronto? One of my favourites. I'll have to give a shot to the places you mentioned. I've heard a lot of great thing about the burger at Richmond Station!

Then it was lib vs Con.

For those of us in Cabbagetown, Dova for fine dining and The House on Parliament (aka The HOP) for deluxe pub fare.
Our area has one of the largest surviving Victorian era home districts in Canada and the gardens are just coming into bloom. A great neighborhood walk and always fun to visit the Riverdale farm to see the new baby goats and sheep.

Pre-pandemic we used to eat at either Kingyo or Zakkushi in Cabbagetown pretty much every Sunday. Kingyo unfortunately closed but will have to get back to Zakkushi soon for a ridiculous amount of yakitori skewers.
