I'll take this small gesture from Dougie + the sticker refund vs risking Wynne 2.0 - not a chance in hell. Ontarians memories are short!

The speed limits should actually be 120-130. There is lots of data which shows travelling at these speeds is safer. There are needs to be higher and less tolerance to ensure driving compliance. Hopefully this will expand to all 400 series highways in the future.

Driving is Europe is such a dream and an equal nightmare when I return home.

Thing is for some reason people in Europe just know how to drive in general. In Toronto you have to drive extremely defensively because people generally have no clue how to drive. In Portugal after driving for a couple hours, I felt way safer driving at 160km/h than I do in Toronto driving 60km/h.

What's really shocking is how few people can keep their cars within a massive lane and if you've driven in other parts of the world you realize how wide our lanes really are.

after McGinty and Wynne and their criminal activity costing tax Payers Millions i cant see ever voting Liberal ever. I don't care if Doug isn't the smoothest cat, he has ***** , and his heart is in the right place, good enough for me ..

Better he give the sticker money back to me than have the liberals just dig a big whole somewhere in the ridings and burry it.

Are you suggesting that governments only follow the science when it suits them?

The reason is the third pedal and a gear lever that does not only move front to back but also side to side, both of which you have to continuously operate. When you are forced to be actively engaged in driving the car which requires your full attention vs. effectively being a passenger, you get much better at it.

I daily drove manual for 10 years, though it helps hone your skills, you can still drive completely distracted in a manual without a second though when you're competent at it.

Indeed... when you are competent at it. 98% of Ontario drivers are incompetent. That would be a major first step. As for being distracted, with a 130 km/h limit and traffic actually moving at 130 km/h you are again forced to pay more attention to your surroundings and the road instead of the cell phone.

This x a million. We have the worst drivers here in Ontario. Oblivious to other cars, aggressive, or worse, a combination of the 2.

I remember the PC government of mike harris. They barricaded the provincial parliament. I remember the demonstrations where cops all dressed in black chased down and beat anti-poverty demonstrators. Dougie is certainly an improvement over that guy. The first thing mcsquinty did was tear down the barricades

Dougie only got 40% of the votes. The largely center and left opposition got 60%. With proportional representation, we would become more of a democracy and permanently lean center left. The situation is similar in the US, except it is done with gerrywandering, voter suppression, and a totally undemocratic senate.

what I'm saying is that in the US, Canada and the UK, the right is enjoying power that they don't really deserve

It seems Doug is doing whatever it takes to remain in power.

Sound familiar?

Good for him I say, whatever it takes...

That more of them drive pickup trucks that we do and that some of them are also holding beers in their right hands instead of just their chai lattes.
