Platinum Cars In North York Ontario??? Should I Buy A Car There?
I saw a Porsche 997 I like at Platinum Cars located in North York Ontario. But I live in BC so can't go see the actual car in person. Has anyone bought a car from them and are they a reputable dealership and how was your experiences? Are their car usually clean? If I do buy the 997 there, it will need to be shipped to BC and anything I should look out for in buying a car there.
I know most dealers in BC, recondition, provides a PPI report, and sometimes DME report for Porsches they are selling.
Thanks In Advance!!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but seemed worthwhile in the name of consumer protection. Platinum lost their omvic license, lots of stories of misrepresented cars, hidden damage etc. All the usual sketchy, used car tactics.
The judges requirement for the owner to complete anger management and conflict resolution training is hilarious.
They have some very special cars and attract buyers from all over so wanted to share this for those who might not have heard.

That area is generally considered the Bermuda triangle of GTA used car dealers. Alot of shady, crashed, rebranded etc activity up there. That being said, I bought a mkv rabbit from them 10 years ago and had a pleasant experience.
If you need someone on the ground to put eyes on the car, I'll be in the area tomorrow and Wednesday. I've got a 996 that I just went through to do ims, RMS, clutch etc. Familiar with suspension, bore scoring etc. 997 is similar enough that I might be able to help.
911 market is super hot in the GTA and anything reasonably priced will sell fast, likely without a ppe. I wouldn't be offended / surprised if they don't accomodate a full PPI if other buyers are willing to pull the trigger "as is".

I'm on a local 997 Whatsapp group and that place regularly comes up, they have a G Wagen that they are hiking the price on seemingly every other week.
Consensus is that the cars have plenty of stories. They are happy to have cars sit on the books for a long time (1 year+), I visited once and they were idling the cars in the warehouse showroom as opposed to keeping them on battery maintainers.
I was there to look at a 997S, turned out it was a base Carrera that someone had put a 3.8 marked airbox in and stuck the 'S' on the rear deck - like I said by reputation the cars have stories. To their credit they did change this internet listing afterwards and stopped describing as an 'S' on the 'net. It did sell after an extended period of time.

Oh nice can I be added to the 997 chat? I am looking for a 997 Turbo initially but someone beat me to it. So this Targa 4S looks pretty nice.
This is the car I am looking at...thoughts and if anyone here has any history of the car would be great!! Also, what do you guys think of a Targa 4S in terms of it holding value down the road.

The WhatsApp group is '997 Rennsport' mainly Toronto area guys and get togethers in the summer.
I think there is a thread in this section that the founders put up when they were getting it together.
I posted a comment about this thread so we'll see if any of the others want to chime in.
