Default Thoughts on this GT3RS?

What do you folks think about this track-prepped GT3RS in Langley? https://finder.porsche.com/ca/en-CA/...reowned-1L3LV6

On one hand I figure it's kind of a poor time to buy a car. But on the other hand, if/when I do get a GT car I will want to cage it and such, so there's some savings with that already done. Decent spec too. Don't mind the lack of PCCBs as it'll be primarily a track car, so I'd probably swap to ST or something regardless. Suppose value depends on how much of that 16k was on the track.

looks incredible.
shouldn't it have 3 or 5 year unlimited mileage CPO?
For a dedicated track car I would go with a real race car like a cup for less than a third of this cost. It will have better safety, and handle a few hits along the way.

I don't think you can get 991 gt3 cup cars for 100k, or even close? Even a 997 would be considerably more iirc. It is an idea though. Although I would certainly enjoy driving this on the street too.

I would want it to be certified pre-owned at that price. If it has a lot of track miles it would be due for new hubs, bearings, center locks, and other parts which would add up. It's a $235k car so it has +50k on the price with 16000 km. I'd be surprised if the dealer paid much over msrp for it.

Number of reasons it isn't CPO. First being the mods. Can't CPO a modified car and they didn't want to remove the mods. If like the 991.2 GT3, rear carpet needs to be cut to mount the half cage. Expensive carpet replacement when you remove the cage.

Carpet replacement is not that expensive. The regular version seems to be missing from the Suncoast site now, but the clubsport version is here: https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...LUBCARPET.html The regular should cost about the same. It just clicks into place.

It used to be my car. It did not see much track use due to COVID lockdowns and me racing in the Radical Cup rather than tracking it since covid started. I drove it to LA along the coast and back to break in, and also 5-6 trips to Okanagan, as well as used it as a nice-weather daily last year. So hubs and centerlocks are a long way from replacement.

It's track-prepped, with cage (GMG), shims and other parts for better adjustment of camber and caster, Schroth 6-point harness, and front strut mount reinforcements. All is removable, but it would be a waste to remove on a car that's to be tracked because these mods are highly beneficial for track use. The car also has front PPF and full ceramic coating, with double-ppf on rear wheel arches. PPF is showing some rock marks, but ceramic coating is still working great. For CPO they would need to remove the mods and replace brake rotors (still original) and tires - both still have life left but not enough to pass CPO (or at least that's what they told me when discussing the trade-in value ).

I'm not involved with this sale - I traded it in for 992 Turbo S in September. They told me they would have to put it back to stock, probably to reduce the trade-in price, but it looks like they took the "for sale" photos without even washing it first. I guess the market is that hot (or someone is that lazy).

The non GT3 variant is similarly priced as the link you shared. GT3 part is more expensive. It's a couple thousand or so. Went through this with 3 dealers. Most price the wrong part. I didn't have to pay though.

Interesting. I got the lower price quote, but I never bought it, so it could have been the wrong part indeed.

A great car!!

Buy it!

Had one for 2 years (2019/2020) , caged, tracked about 40 times, and regret selling it.

Price is fair, I paid 50 over list in April 2019 for mine, this is a fair price imho...

Would not worry about the km, even if all on the track this car defies mere mortals....

Cheers!
