Default Tracking down previously owned vehicles

I know that you can do a used vehicle information package search based on a license plate but how would I be able to track down the owner of a vehicle based on its VIN?

I’m humouring the idea of buying back some of my old cars.

Same way…run the VIN rather than the license plate.

Isn't that akin to browsing social media sites to see what your ex-girlfriends/wives are up to :-) That being said I am guilty as charged as I still keep in touch with the guy who bought my last Boxster - it was a well maintained/good car when I sold it to him 6 years ago and I know he takes care of his cars so perhaps one day I'll buy it back (if I ever get a larger garage). I also bought back a Moto Guzzi bike that I sold a decade ago, however those are much easier to track down as the ownership group is about 10 people in the province :-)

Thank you! Off to sift through old files to see if I can find VINs.

I had a Nogaro/Nogaro B5S4 I’d like to track down.

You can find registered owner info from a VIN search at the registery?? That has to be some kind of privacy issue?

Yup. You can find out where someone lives just with their plate.

You run a uvip report. You only get their name and last registered city. You still have to track them down from there.

Im pretty sure you get the exact address that the car is licensed to. I did the last time I ran one - maybe 2-3 years ago.

Nope…they have never given the exact address. That would be a psycho’s dream come true…

Name, city, province only.

Careful .... sometimes buying back old cars is bitter sweet. You might love it and cry when you see it or you might remember within 10 min of driving it why you sold it. LOL sometimes things are better left in the past surrounded by the good memories. In saying that ... think I’m gunna start looking for my old 84 prelude (the rude lude) . Will look wicked nxt to my black 360 CS (one of 3 black in Canada-humble brag)
