911 Allocations - Good luck with that !

Made some calls this week and asked about the earliest possibility for a new 911 S including a Targa 4S - at this point why not go for the jugular. So as not to belabor an already exhausted topic - 2+ yrs out more likely 2 1/2 yrs and with Omicron and more shutdowns in Germany it will only continue to get worse. No one was able to get me a firm answer on anything - not that I expected one. So there you have it - they all tried to sell me a used 911 for $150-$170k ... or a $30/$40k premium over new. At least its not as insane as the watch market - been trying to secure a Rolex pepsi dial for my kid who graduates business school this year for the last 3 yrs - no luck getting one new but if I want to spend $30k for a $12k watch I can have one in the grey market used. Hence, the 911 market by comparison isn't so bad after all ... especially when you consider the base cost of a 911 vs a Rolex.
Interesting times ... will stick with my 987,2 CS for now and find something else I can obsess over until things change ...

There will be many 911’s delivered between now and then. It just depends who gets it.
Just like Rolex. Many desirable models sold every day.

My dealer told me 2023 last time I talked them a few months ago.
The supply disruptions are very real. We have had product on order more than a year which has yet to arrive. At a much higher price.

Bought 4 P-Cars new in past - clearly haven't spent enough to warrant "club access" - likely never will. I think I will survive that exclusion.

I'm getting set to receive a 992 C4GTS in the spring and I may just put a deposit down and wait for a 992.2 TTS; with the pre-owned market being the way it is, there is little downside.

Keep it - been in this game too long to know that reversion is always in the cards.

It would seem that the prospect of a luxury tax on new 911s is having zero effect on demand.

Price elasticity is inelastic - put simply - at a certain point - whether you pay $5k / $10k or $20k more for a "new" Porsche it just doesn't matter ...
