Default Pre-paid Maintenance Package

Did anyone get the essentially pre-paid maintenance package from Porsche? I was quoted $2950 which includes 3 services, basically once a year, A, B, A service (B is the more involved one). How does this compare to individual pricing without the package? Anyone have positive or negative experience with this option?

Apart from that, everything else offered by the dealership I'm going to opt out of. PPF, ceramic, and even the rim/tire protection. There was a thread earlier that debated on that, but at that price, I'm probably not going to do it and just try to drive more carefully and not go near construction sites.

Save your money. Pay for the services when you need them.

On what vehicle?

The dealer threw in for free the same service package for my Macan at a list of $1800.

There's somewhere online you can find the Canadian price sheet for these to make sure they aren't making up some number.

Ask your sales agent.

Pre-paid maintenance pricing is listed on the configurator.

I would assume it would be cheaper to buy it rather than pay it separately at the dealer every time you service your vehicle, unless you can get some loyalty or PCA discount from your service department.

I would call up your service department and ask them to add the 3 services up.

How long do you plan on keeping the car? If you sell, or experience total loss, then I doubt you can get that back.

Don't forget on new cars purchased in the USA the first year maintenance is already included in your purchase price. Don't let them double dip.

It's a 992. I heard others getting the first service free as well, but this was not mentioned to me. The case that I heard it, the guy bought the PPF and ceramic plan off them, so might be why?

If you have the link to the sheet I would very much appreciate that!

Oh I didn't know it was listed in the configurator. I don't recall seeing it but let me double check again.

That was my assumption as well on both points. I was assuming it was cheaper to pay for it separate versus package, but also if I sell or anything happens, it's tough luck. That said, I definitely plan to keep this car for a while, so if it's more economical I'd definitely opt in.

So it is on the configurator, I perhaps missed it or they added it in the latest update. The price is what the SA told me at $2950. I just talked to a dealer and the oil change is only $490 and the more comprehensive one for 30k is only $1050. So economically does not make sense nor convenience because with the pre-paid you have to do it at a certain period even if you don't drive it or hit the recommended mileage. I guess that settles that.

To tack on to the OP, do you guys recommend extended warranty? On my previous cars, I've skipped it. But have read some horror stories on previous generations (bore scoring, manual transmission failing in the 991, etc)

Buy nothing that finance guy/gal is selling. Just smile, shake head no, and say "no thank you".

I think some people who are financing their purchases, roll the pre-paid maintenance programs into their loans for budgeting reasons. But, that's just my WAG.

I bought the mtce plan for both of my Macans. I checked pricing and it was 25% cheaper for identical services at the time.

Don't forget JT's luxury sin tax + 20% if it's part of the initial purchase - expect that will now factor in on all these add-ons - ext. warranty, PPF, tire insurance, maintenance etc etc.

I'm fairly certain I'll be picking up the car before end of year and it looks like this luxury tax isn't passing yet. But who knows, thanks for the word of caution.
