problem is you should use a special tool to open the speedo otherwise you damage the casing.
I have done several from 928's and have never had an issue separating the halves. I wonder if they are different.
But I do need to get mine fixed as well, I broke the shaft and currently have a section of a bic pen ink tube with the needle mounted to it. It works but I would like to have it repaired properly.
