Default Macan S or Cayenne

Hello guys ! I am planning to buy my first Porsche and I am divided between new Macan or Cayenne. I currently own a 2021 Honda Pilot Black edition & a 2015 Honda Accord EX. I am planning to trade in my Accord for my new Porsche. I was more inclined towards Cayenne but than I thought why do i need a spacious Porsche since I already own a Pilot for my family and buying Macan S will save me some money too.

i may sound stupid but here is my one concern if I buy Macan ? does macan feel like driving a sedan or suv ( not in terms of performance lol ) in terms of interior space. Thanks !!

This might be hard to believe but a few guys on the forums here already have mentioned that the Macan drives like a 911.

Macan, particuarly anything above the "base" model, does not drive like an SUV. If you are keeping your large size SUV, I personally don't think you need the room of a Cayenne and would opt for the Macan S. You will be surprised by the power.

I think that people who say a Macan drives like a 911 have either not driven a 911 or are not very sensitive to driving dynamics. I own both 2020 Macan GTS and 991.1 TTS, and although the Macan is great for an SUV, it is still an SUV and not like a 911.

I've owned a Cayenne and 2 Macan S's. Macan S is a great daily if you don't need the extra space of the Cayenne. Macan definitely drives more like a car than as SUV.

cayenne isn't really that much larger on the outside fwiw... total length 4918mm vs 4726, width 1983mm vs 1922mm... but a fair bit more room inside

My dad just traded in his Macan S for a Cayenne Coupe.

Macan is definitely sportier and sounded a lot better. But it is tight in the back even for small children with car seats. Can't go wrong with either. Although if you need trunk space don't get the Cayenne Coupe.

Kids for us are in the plans in the next year or so, so the Macan made the shortlist and this was a consideration.

Would the space be any different say compared to a sedan or hatchback to accommodate kids and a car seat?

The Macan is fine with 4 people or 2 car seats in the back. We have a Lexus RX350 and the Macan is comparable inside. We also have an MDX and it is roomier.

Thanks, Onami.

While we don't "need" a new car, or a Macan for that matter, it's more of a "want." It's that or a Panamera and I am fully cognizant of the fact the two are very different cars and at very different price points. Any how, back to the original topic. Sorry OP - didn't mean to derail the thread.

If you want an SUV that drivers like a sports car get a Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

I have driven both as loaners. I am NOT an SUV fan in the least, but I might get a Macan to go with my Cayman. It is good. The Cayenne on the other hand drives big in comparison. I was looking for the button to release the anchor chain when it was time to moor it.

Macan S and above drive great! Like a sporty sedan. Small interior though. I recently had a Macan GTS as a loaner.

I have a Cayenne with 2 toddler seats in the back. It's worked great last 2 years and have towed 12 foot unhaul enclosed a few times, did well there too. Cayenne does not drive like a Macan, it's a SUV but still somewhat fun. If shopping a Cayenne, revised one will be out soon.
