curious if nonessential travel is now allowed? was your travel non essential? what did you tell border when going/coming home?
btw the pearson/hotel thing ended July5th so your detour may have been unnecessary.
Did border care about Uber driver? how much was uber from Buffalo to Toronto? ($300 my guess)

Travel by Air is for everyone else. I escaped to Orlando for 2-1/2 months to maintain a vacation home I have there that I hadn't visited in 14 months prior.
I even went with a 1-way ticket from Pearson. US Immigration didn't care. Just told them wifey and I going to Orlando when asked.
I had made the Buffalo arrangements prior to the July 5th announcement (plane ticket to BUF @$62 lol and a specialized Taxi (commercial version) service.

Border did not question the US driver on his destination. I gave an address for the Ramada in Niagara and called an Uber from there. Cost $90
