I used to have a few of these in my early 30's - wish I had kept my 71 GTV - this one just sold on BAT for $77,500 USD + BAT Fees 5% + transport = ABSOLUTELY CRAZY !
You couldn't give these cars away at one point. They are rust buckets - unibodies ... I am shocked at the price this fetched in BAT today.
Makes Porsche look darn cheap on a comparison basis. wow
One of my buddies has one and a half of these in a storage container. His Dad was in the process of fully restoring it when he passed suddenly. All the body work done, has a couple of engines and everything apart and documented. I'm hoping to help him get this back on the road. At least with the increasing values, its worth his time to pay an expert to help with reassembly if he doesn't have the time. Stunning cars in person.
Meh! Just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's good. Just look at the 912.
You can thank sites like Jalopnik and BaT for the classic car boom. Doesn't help people aren't traveling or going out so there is lots of disposable income to get a toy. Hell we spent 10k a year 3-4 weeks of travel per year and maybe a few thousand on local entertainment.. can't do that now.
Everyone wants a classic but doesn't want to deal with the classicness of them or expect them to be like a 2020 AMG GT. There will always be a smell, a noise.. something
As for the Alfa. Not my style, give me a Triumph GT6.
those british cars used outdated technology when new, Alfa used synchromesh transmissions, dohc, independent suspension in 50s and 60s...way more advanced than the British.

Does anyone have any input on the new Alfas? What is it the Giglio , Stelvio? That 4c looked interesting for a second until I saw it was so under powered. Are they reliable and well built?
sorry to hear
I like looking at other's British cars while driving my German cars.
my dad had over 100 MGs over the years, I am not a fan of Lucas electronics.
I have a neighbour with a Cayman and an Alfa Giulia. He loves it. Says it one of the best cars he's had.
GIulias are very nice and completely worthless! I see Q4 Ti pop up at auction for under 30k pretty often with like 30000kms. I'd get one in a heartbeat if I had the space/ need. I just feel it's one of those cars that when Alfa pulls out of the market in a few years getting parts for them will be almost impossible. BMWs Mercs and Audi have become boring and bland.
