My buddy in the auto body repair business says this is their highest profit from selling cars, is way overpriced and strongly suggested declining it. He could do all that for a fraction of the cost.

$5500 can buy several paint corrections and resprays. Different strokes for different folks, but I don't like clear bras. I can always see the line, and it often has little peels or chips that look just as bad as a regular rock chip. Why save the paint for someone else to look at?

Don't pay. Drive the thing. If it gets chipped up in a few years, respray the bumper and good for $1500.

Thanks for the input, I won't buy the extra paint warranties.
They did tell me they have many claims on the rim and tire warranty. $3300 for three years, sliding scale up or down depending on length purchased. I've never had a flat or bent rim in 44 years of driving. I'll take my chance on passing on that one too.
