Allstate Insurance

Aviva was also very easy to deal with on my rabbit hit in the golf, and they waived my deductible.
I tried Belair for giggles but was more than what I currently spend with Aviva - 2 cars and house is about $270 a month.
Porsche is with Haggerty $650 per year

I have given up on discount brokers for the wheels and roofs. I know I pay more going through a real in person insurance broker but I really like the fact that the same person picks up the phone when I need to talk about a policy - year after year.

In the middle of shopping insurance. Got the registered letter from Intact booting us off the home insurance due to 2 claims in 2 yrs. first was for contents of the audi when stolen. Intact encouraged us to claim the contents on our home policy and even waived the deductible because of our customer rating. Then in august the dehumidifier hose leaked and the basement carpet got wet. You’d think it was a 911 call with emergency crews lifting carpet and ripping out drywall. New flooring on the home policy. NO WARNING from them that this claim would nuke our policy, then the letter oct 1, you’re dead to us. I could have repaired the water damage myself with a little help from home depot.

Recruiter mentioned ring policy...stupidest thing you can do. look at the premium...in about 5 years you can replace and they don't pay retail replacement but wholesale which is less than half. Just get the stone and ring checked periodically so it doesn't fall out. I have been married for 20 years so with the premiums I could replace my wife's ring 4 times.
Broker is good to have for guidance before submitting a claim.

now you are blackballed as you have to disclose that your policy was cancelled by insurance company. I was told by a broker few years ago not to claim on home unless 25k or more as they can increase premiums or cancel you, so I go with a 5k deductible and pay very little for house insurance.

I currently pay $236 a year for a $16000 policy on my wife's ring (which is roughly what I paid for it back in 2001)
It used to be less but even if I paid that amount for the last 19 years then it only totals $4484. My guess is that number is closer to $3800 if you average it out.
And I was assured by Allstate that if we lose the ring then we get the full $16000 to buy another one.
I know this because we had a close call just 2 months ago and called Allstate to file a claim but we ended up finding the ring and didn't proceed.

The ring policy has been acceptable in my case.

I've been with Allstate for a long time and they insure both houses , our snowmobiles , boat , quads, trailers , basically everything i own and i tried shopping around
the last two years and it's pretty much the same everywhere ... whatever you think you save somewhere else the first year , they will take it back the second year and you have
to start shopping all over again ... i just gave up spending an hour on the phone every time going through all the details while asking for a quote !
The only thing i dislike about Allstate now is that there is too much personnel movement between branches !
Cheers

Aviva cancelled my moms house insurance because they think the roof has not been done since 1994. But I had no issues dealing with them. I just need to send them photos showing the roof has been done.

Update, as of yesterday intact has agreed to re-instate our coverage if we pay back the claim. Doing the math this morning. It will stay on the record as a claim w/o payout. Sounds like speeding infractions with no demerit points. Too many and you’re out.

I changed from Aviva to Allstate 5 years when I changed job as I no longer qualified for the employee discount from the previous company.
Generally it's been good, price was good when I price shopped.
Keep in mind some/most insurance companies have loyalty program for "disappearing deductible", which goes away when you change to another company, it's a good ploy to discourage the customers from price shopping every year, although I made the mistake two years ago of "cancelling" vs "suspending" the portion of insurance allowing the Porsche to be driven on the road over winter, I did this using on-line self-serve app, the broker never contacted me to ask if cancelling is what I really wanted, even though "suspending" is what I had done with them in previous years when I called the office, so I lost two years of disappearing insurance credit without even knowing it, I was miffed about that, the manager at the broker gave me some small discount as compensation.

okay to bring back the old ins discussion thread ....
i did in fact switch to CAA this year , but to be honest Primarily for home owner reduction more than anything . But i did bundle my auto with them as it was a bit cheaper....
saw this endorsement and thought i would throw it on here for discussion by the armchair lawyers .. a well as a couple real ones im sure ....
the question .. are you insured for instruction at a PCA UCR day at CTMP ?
this is my non Porsche , but thought if any of you are insured with CAA and track your car it may be worth a discussion.
