old ski boats

I had a Mastercraft 1994 Barefoot with 200 hp Evinrude OUTBOARD which was simply brilliant....then Traded/ specced/ ordered a 2007 Mastercraft x14. Ordering that was like ordering a new 911...agonizing option by option. Opted for the 400 HP Direct Drive only because I wanted the boat to reach 50 MPH..which for a MC x14 is very fast. I loved that boat...sold it to a friend of mine and when I saw it last week...still looked brilliant. The MC forum is really excellent. I was on it a lot back in the day and looked a hundreds of photos before speccing mine and asked members to weigh in on options. If you find a barefoot with the 200 hp johnson or evinrude power in perfect shape...don’t discount it as an option. It is inexpensive- awesome seating layout and old school...and when everybody is stepping all over the boat -spilling drinks...doesn’t twist you up.

haha I love skiing behind old outboards. Favourite boat I've ever skiied behind was a J-Craft. That thing could also do 70mph, without batting an eye.
Overdraft, I get what you're saying. Ideally, would still want an inboard, just because you can make it a pretty decent wakeboarding boat, by just adding a tower and weight. You can make it a good barefooting/teaching boat, by adding a boom off the side. And it can be a world class ski boat. I agree that these boats are a bit compromised for a regular boat, but a) a porsche is a bit compromised regular car, b) compromised = character and c) we have a good inboard/outboard which can be used for everything else.
Love all the comments here guys.

Muskoka - One of my friends is selling his Ski-ray.
I want to say its a 93? Interior is ok. Like no rips or tears, but certainly tired. It needs a polish. Maybe a wet sand.
Engine, has been tuned. But, if it were mine ... carb rebuild.
no tower. center tow bar.
This was the ski boat that I was dragged by, when I was 20.
It is currently floating in Port carling. Message me and I will share his phone number.

You never find the right boat when you are looking.
They fall in your lap, when you are not looking.
I would think it is under $9k. But i don't know, not my boat. Just offering up a phone number.
But I understand ...
