Very simple solution here; wear a mask. You all can do your meets, and others don't have to worry about the continued spread.

The reason why some of the people here are so upset is that because people can't be bothered to spend 3 seconds putting on masks, their loved ones with conditions have an increased chance of getting sick/dying.

We indeed need help... we need for our government to grow a pair and put you and the likes of you in jail the way we put drunk drivers in jail because you are exhibiting the same reckless behaviour and endangering the rest of society. Fining the organizer of the party in Brampton $100K was a good start - but we also need to start fining the attendees, not just the organizers. As for you not standing for anyone preventing you from making your own decisions, I am afraid that is only possible if you live on a deserted island. If you choose to live in a society, you have to abide by the prevailing social norms regardless of how restrictive you may find them.

I understand the concern. However, there is no mandate or law that stipulates that masks/facial coverings must be worn outdoors.

I agree. It's not the law, but it's an easy courtesy to extend. "Courtesy" isn't really a strong enough word...

Yes, you do need some quality help. Better yet you need a room with rubber walls. Send people to jail for what exactly? Yet, the federal and provincial governments are releasing hardened criminals from jails because of this virus. Give them masks, they live in close proximity to each other. As for me, I make normal decisions based on the law and commonly acceptable social behaviour. If that is too extreme for you or it doesn't work for you, tough. I am not here to appease you and/or your cohorts. Anyway, not to toy with your apparent complexes or pain, I will sign off from any further communication with you. I have learned that dealing with people like you is simply a waste of precious time.

Commonly accepted social behaviour is to put a mask on when in close proximity to others right now or stay home. Like what makes you think you have the moral high road here? You're the one who is putting others at risk with reckless behaviour. I'm the furthest thing to a socialist or any of those extreme groups, but I am a decent human being who wants to see the end of this pandemic with the least loss of life. It's not a joke, it is killing a lot of people, and the younger demographic is having a huge uptick in case volume because of the irresponsible "I'm fine, I will do whatever I want" attitude.

I wish people were so courteous during flu and pneumonia season. But yes, I agree a common courtesy when it comes to those at high risk is truly necessary.

In a truly momentus occasion, and the first time in the history of any forum anywhere; we have come to some sort of agreement. This day will go down in history. Forever to be remembered.

Back in the 1930s in Germany, there was no law that stipulated that Jews are people just like the Germans and should be afforded the same rights and protections. Before that in America, there was also no law that stipulated that blacks had the same rights as whites. And even before that, in ancient Greece there was no law against sodomizing young boys and in ancient Rome there was no law against infanticide by exposure. There is still no law or mandate against execution of women for violation of certain sexual taboos in some places in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. And, there is also no law that says I can't come to the next PTN gathering or visit the school your kids go to if I feel somewhat unwell and just came back from an area in Africa with an active Ebola outbreak. Is it your position that doing any of these things was/is perfectly fine because they were/are not illegal?

While some countries are quicker than others when it comes to enacting laws to protect their citizens when a new challenge arises, the vast majority of civilized people don't need a law to tell them that they need to be considerate of others. There is no law that says that I must get up from my seat on a bus when an elderly person walks in, or that if I see a Porsche on fire I must help by deploying my fire extinguisher, but I do those things anyway despite that there is no mandate or law. I am saddened by the fact that you and a few others like you don't feel the same way. Think about it for a second - if every person in the world decided to behave responsibly by not venturing out unnecessarily and wore a mask when they absolutely had to leave their household, we would completely eliminate COVID in six weeks... but yeah, that would indeed infringe upon your right to be a self-centered d!ck.

What happened to the democratic process and the rule of law? It is a well known fact that masks do nothing, zero, to prevent the spread of covid-19. People are just acting out of fear and are therefore complying reluctantly to wearing masks. It is a fact that masks do more harm than good. Maybe that's one of your problems, you’re rebreathing too much of your own co2. Even the boxes that the masks are packaged in state that the masks do not prevent the spread of the coronavirus/covid-19. Your insane rants, fear mongering and empty threats just show how truly and deeply disturbed you are. Unfortunately every civilized society has its own pieces of living excrement, such as you. Just because you can bully your family and acquaintances and keep them in a state of perpetual fear, it doesn’t mean you can bully others into agreeIng with your idiotic beliefs. When you are out in the real world, by all means go ahead and wear your mask and a diaper too.
