Default local ecu programming

any ecu shops local to GTA or at least in Canada that can reprogram Porsche security ecu? Proof of ownership can be provided as no funny business going on here. Needed for boxster.

There is a guy on kijiji offering $40 Durametric scans. Maybe he can help. No affiliation so no clue if his service is any good.

I believe Durametric cannot do what Turbodan is looking to do. I believe it's limited to PIWIS or whatever the current Porsche diagnostic tool is called. However, I hope I am wrong.

I believe this for a fact because the previous owner of my Boxster left the top down and it suddenly rained, causing the security module to go bad (happens often to Boxster owners.) The only way to get a new one working (even used) was to take it to a dealer, or at least a shop equipped with the Porsche diagnostic tool. I have a Duremetric scanner myself, and I tried, and it didn't work. Mind you, this is the enthusiast version, not the professional version.

actually I don't think PIWIS can reprogram a used unit only new. Danmax in mississauga can do it.

Hmm, interesting. I wonder how the dealer did it, then? I'll have to assume the unit in my car was brand new from the dealership (I'll have to double check.)

Good find on DANMAX! Care to share cost for what you're trying to do?

bringing the old unit for them to check and see if they can read the stored info, (hoping they can reuse this unit) then getting good used unit from Randy at whaletail sending it to them (by airport) and with a new key the owner has, and programming it to plug in and work. they said cost is 300-350 which is a little high side IMO. Dealers here say they can only program new.
btw the cable for the hood is on driver's side on these...my 996tt is on passenger side.

Did the security module just suddenly decide to call it quits? Or was it due to rain/getting flooded?
