There are 2 silvers in the gta. Called the private sale with no price listed. I’m a serious out of town buyer, money in hand for the right car. Before i travel 5 hrs to look at a car i need to know we’re generally in the same ballpark on the $$$ expectations. Disclosed where i was on the $$$ range but couldn’t get him to give me any idea of where i’d need to be so as not to waste each other’s time. Heads up if you call him. Next day i did a deal on an 02 51k kms 6spd in the very low $60s. Ppi is thursday this week. Fingers crossed.

996Turbos are great cars at a great price, but if the OP wants something special, grab yourself a 996 GT3. Now thats a car!

997GT3s are the sweetspot (for me) between modern car and raw car, but 996 GT3s are special in that they were the last of the truly raw GT cars, possibly excepting for the 996 GT2 - but Id put the 6GT3 more raw feeling than that.

And BTW, OP you go through a lot of cars! Or are you keeping all of them?

Have sent you an email... connected you to a friend of mine in Toronto with a very clean 996T with some subtle thoughtful suspension/brake mods.

There are two 996s GT3s (plus an Euro 996 GT3 Clubsport) avail through Scan in North Vancouver. If you dont know them, they're generally the go-to guys in Van for GT3 maintenance/prep/love. They're an awesome shop.

Thanks so much, everyone. I’m definitely looking closely at a few. I’m tempted in particular by a friend of a friend’s 40,000 km 4 owner non tracked 996 gt3. Not sure though at $85k.

Thanks for the heads up. I was promised a sale of a 996tt at $55k by a Vaughan dealer, only for them to be unable to replace a battery and have it ready for ppi for a total of 3 months. Then, they told me it will need another battery and wanted $60k. It’s still not roadworthy. Hope you didn’t have to deal with them. If you see this one, don’t walk- run away.

996 GT3 as you described at 85K seems like a good deal, south of the border the prices are the same except in USD for s comparable car. Compared to a 997 gt3 the looks are lacking IMO , but the 996 just has that bare bones personality that has diminished. My first gt3 will be a 996 or 997.

90% of the 996 GT3s out there, in my experience, have hit the wall. If you find one for $85k that is a well kept street car, thats an unusual 996 GT3.

Curious as to why you have a 964 in the mix, as it's a vastly different beast. With anything air-cooled, you're going to have much more luck looking in the states. Far more selection and non-rust-belt cars.

Thanks guys. I agree on the 996 gt3. It is getting tempting, but it is pushing my budget.

Regarding the 964, I have a dream of making a lightweight version.

Bump. My search continues for either of these beauties. Please let me know if you have anything. I caved and went for a 997tt and need something more raw and analog.

WTB 996 Gt3/997gt3rs/964 coupe c2. Thanks!
