Default 997.1 engine filter

Would like to change my filters in the Carrera. Can someone recommend what and where I can purchase these in Canada? Would Napa or parts-source be a option besides Dealership.

thanks

The dealership isn't so bad. I compared what I paid yesterday to germanparts.ca and some things are cheaper while some things are not. I used my PCA card to get 10% off as well.

Here's some examples. (For 991.1)

Engine Air filter at dealership was $51.64 each. (you need 2)
Engine Air filter at Germanparts.ca is $81.75 each.

https://germanparts.ca/parts/porsche...ake/air-filter

The Cabin filter however is on sale right now and is $5.00 cheaper at germanparts. The engine oil cartridge is $1.00 cheaper at a the dealership, back and forth we go. Just shop around I guess.

Also what I like about the dealership is that I can walk in and ask for an oil change kit and they just know to provide the gasket, crush washer, filter etc. Then I scan the receipt for my records.

Just took a sneak peak of website germanparts,. Wow ! Compared to where I’m at it’s 50-70% cheaper on some parts.

bought at dealer this week..

oil pan plug $15...., GP $7
oil plug crush washer $5 ... Gp .90 cents wow!
oil filter $36.... Gp... $21

Note.. some of these parts at GP are on sale. But also all parts I purchased at dealer came with 10% off discount.

engine filter now at Germanparts $35 , I’m happy with that.

great feedback guys..

If you subscribe to Germanparts.ca website news, they send you discount codes.
I'm sure the code will show on a google search as well.
Fathers day is coming. I'm sure there will be a new code.
As a father, I'd be happy with a new air filter.
If mom got a new air filter for mothers day.
I'd be sleeping in the garage.

In a pinch you can get Mann filters for M96/M97 engines at Partsource.

I use German Parts quite a bit especially when they have sales. My favourite is their case of 4 5L Motul Xcess 5w40 with discounts sometimes $170-180.

German Parts seems to only cater to newer cars.

After doing my first oil change last week and debating with which oil to go with. I decided on the safe bet and with the majority, M1 0 W40. Now with owning a 05 C2 and having IMS concerns, should I be upgrading to a more expensive oil as you did with the Motul Xcess? Any thoughts and Feedback from you or anyone on this , would be appreciated.

Motul Xcess is recommended by Jake Raby from LN Engineering and my tuner for my 997 Turbo (Ultimate Motorwerks). Figured for the few extra bucks it’s worth it.
