"RE"-introduction
Hello!
I just thought I would make a post to re-introduce myself to the community. Many years back, I joined Rennlist in preparation for my eventual purchase of a 964. I had just graduated (with a pile of student loan debt) and was working my way to paying off that debt and building some equity before making the dive. Well, during that time the debt got paid off... but add a wife... a kid... a couple of house moves (lifestyle inflation)... and the Porsche kept getting pushed down and down on the priority list. The increasing prices and availability of the 964 was getting away from me (they were REALLY cheap back in the day!) so I re-set my sights on my favourite water-cooled generation - the 997. I'm happy to say I took the plunge about a month ago and bought myself a 997.1 Targa in my favourite colour - Lapis Blue! So here's my re-introduction.
A bit about the car:

A bit about the car:
- 2007 Targa 4
- US car (originally Florida I believe)
- Lapis Blue with Natural Brown Leather Interior
- Bose System (soon to be replaced with a Pioneer 2400NEX)
- 19" Sport Design wheels (which need to be refinished)
- 105,000 KM - PPI showed no bore scoring, no leaks, overall "decent" condition with minor repairs mainly due to wear and tear
- Name: Mike
- Location: living in Guelph and commute to Mississauga for work (not in the 997)
- Family: lovely wife and a 2 year old daughter (with her own pink Porsche which she got on her 2nd birthday)
- Working in the pharma industry for the past 9 years (hence Mississauga)
- I love working on cars and will do as much as I can on this car myself (limited to space and lift height of a set of Quick Jacks... and of course skill)
- Replaced the halogen light bulb with a set of H7 LED bulbs - they look pretty great and perform really nicely
- Booked in for a major maintenance with Mike at German Autotech next week - he's going to go through and give everything a thorough look and do some scheduled and preventative maintenance
- Will Dr. Colorchip some of the stone chips (there are hundreds!) in the front
- Need to get some curb rash fixed on the wheels (looking at Rim Doctor in KW)
- Stereo replacement and thinking about adding a backup camera (really want CarPlay but thought it'd be cool to add a camera too)
- And that's it for this year... will drive it for the rest of the year and see what it needs next year!

Congrats on the new 997! Great color, my Boxster is Lapis Blue, my 996 was Midnight Blue Metallic, and my 997.2 is Dark Blue Metallic so I wholeheartedly approve of your color combo

Would love to make it out to one of these but my little girl has gymnastics Saturday mornings... and she only does her flips with “Daddy”. Maybe we'll play hooky one day and swing by!
