Experience exporting car to the US?
Hi! (I searched but could not find a similar post).
A friend is permanently moving to Chicago from Toronto. He decided to bring his 2013 991 C4S with him. It’s a Canadian spec car.
Would anyone have an insight on what it takes to do so? What does the process look like? (I have imported a P-Cars from the US, but never the opposite).
Aside from the likely 2.5% in duty, any tech certification..., Porsche Canada memo on recalls and mods...?...
Any recommendation for an agency that can do this transaction from A to Z, full service?
Thank you!

Your friend will have to contact the US Customs and his local DMV and ask all these questions. Anything else is just speculation is a good way to get himself into trouble by having the wrong/outdated information.
