Default O/T Volvo to limit new cars to 180 Km/h

Things are getting worse and worse. Admittedly there are not a lot of Volvos tracked or on Euro Delivery, but I worry that this will be catching. together with the new EC proposal to limit all new cars electronically....imagine your new GT4 RS with a 180 top whack........

Damn commies.
On the bright side, it'll be via the computer.
Some 13 year old wiz in moms basement will have it hacked in 5 minutes.

Meh, roads don't support 180 round these parts anyway. The driver behaviour they seek to curb is a small minority. Not really news IMO. Bet if they did this under the radar nobody would notice. Destined for a car near you with some override feature. Still looking at a V60 Cross as the next daily .

I think I would have required a pretty strong tail wind and long down hill stretch to get my previously enjoyed 850, S70 or V70 north of 180. That being said all of them were great cars to eat up highway miles at a comfortable left hand lane 401 speed.

From Euro delivery, I did 210 flat for the most part on Autobahn in my xc60. It did feel a bit scary from time to time

Here we go again. When I started driving (1985), there was something about speedometers. Most cars would only go to 140 km/h. Not a speed limiter. It was a speed dissuader.

History repeats with more technology.

Another 10 years we will all have flying cars. Won't be a big problem.
