Default 12 month lease options?

I placed an order for a new Macan S on Thursday at PCO with an expected delivery date of June and learned yesterday that the new Macans might be delayed until November. Are there any sources for a short term lease that I could use until the car comes in?

Last time that happened to me, I went to leasebuster and took over someone's lease with 12 months remaining at a great price because the person had a lager than usual downpayment.

I’ve probably assumed at least 8 to 10 leases off leasebusters. Often you’re just looking at taking over somebody else’s problems as many leases are way over on mileage and the car hasn’t been well maintained. Most leases are well under water unless they come with a huge down payment as mentioned and or cash incentive. Watch for the lease transfer fee and overall condition as you’re now responsible for the car once you assume the lease. The closer you can get the residual value to wholesale value the better the deal. There are some legitimate gems out there but you have to look and be quick on the trigger!

You can't go wrong with leasebusters. I have close friends that use them all the time.

Good luck.

I've used them as well for short term. Be sure to filter for the cash incentive factor. If you score a deal with a good down payment and a cash incentive as they really need out of their lease its a big win for you.

Thanks guys. This delay has really put me in a jam. My only fear with assuming a lease is all of the crap they try and hit you with at lease end like damage, excessive wear, tires etc.

I totally agree, it's a lot of work weeding through the crap on Leasbusters to find a good one that's not underwater by too much. If the current leasee purchased wear and tear protection that's helpful. Having said that I've found and assumed a few gems that were under mileage, had good deposits and or cash incentives.

I looked at the leasebusters website, and I don't know - doesn't scream deal to me..... I think you might be better off buying something in the 4-5yr range used, and then flipping it when done..... Are you sure your Macan is due in November? They didn't specifiy November 2019?!

Delay until November confirmed today. Decided to cancel the Macan as I don’t want to get a new car during the Winter. Not sure what I will get now?

Just curious what the difference of assuming delivery of the car in summer and then driving it in the winter anyways....vs. taking delivery in the winter.

You are going to be driving in the winter anyways.....doesn’t make logical sense.
If you are worried about chips and dings, those would happen regardless in the winter (risk is the same) if you took delivery in summer vs. winter. So the thought is to go away from what I assume is your preference (Macan) to something else because you don’t want a new car in winter seems odd to me.

Now if you were not planning to drive at all in the winter that is a different conversation, but I don’t know anybody that winter stores their Macan.....on that note I drive my 911 year round as well.
