yup I got one here in Cambridge even, but I have to say I don't mind it.

Nothing more aggravating when I'm coming through a green and some idiots whips out in front of me and cuts me off because he doesn't want to stop at the red and wait.

Can't agree more. The rules of the road in Ontario are pretty straight forward, red is stop and green is go. LOL

Is the law " full stop for at least 3 seconds"?. I always thought it was just come to a complete stop.

Do they apply the points to the registered owner? I thought mailed tickets didn't incur points.

Are these new cameras, or actual cops sitting there? I'm not sure how they apply points via mail...

Also, is this 3 seconds rule a fact, or just based on someone's opinion? I was under the impression that the rule was to come to a complete stop. Nothing to do with 3 seconds.

If they ding someone that came to a complete stop but was under 3 seconds I could see it being challenged in court.

I call BS on the 3 seconds complete stop requirement for those red light cameras! The driver probably went through it at more than 25km/h (like Iceman did), that of course triggered the camera and now he/she making up $hit that vehicles need to come to a complete stop for 3 seconds so he/she would be some sympathy from others.

They cant apply points when they don't know who is driving.

And cameras monitoring how long you stop?

What the hell is going on out there? Is this for real?

I like the 3 second rule for right on red. I mean a whole 3 seconds to actually observe a situation before proceeding. Typically now what happens is cars barely stop and proceed and many times I’ve seen close calls with other cars and pedestrians.

Who gets hit with the 3 points? The Porsche ? LOL

Can't see how they can hit you with 3 points as the car owner, when they didnt determine the identity of the offender at the roadside, when the offence occurred, or at any time following. Fine goes to the owner of the car, but never heard of the car owner receiving a point penalty as well, for photo radar offenses.

No points are lost because points go against the driver and they don't know who the driver was. I call BS on the 3 second rule too. OHTA says complete stop.
