Drive Clean Toast!

Had mine done last Saturday, just before the announcement. “No charge” ... never hard that before coming from a P dealer. Would have had to get it done anyways for the phase out stage.
Guess they would have caught a few of the old stinkers, but in all the years having the test done on relatively new cars, never had one fail.

Next up - the stupid HOV madness where everyone goes slower and burns more fuel and causes more emissions while a tiny percentage of cars travel a bit faster until they have a higher percentage of accidents entering and exiting the HOV lanes - which the Province refused to record HOV accident number's *specifically* even though they have OPP accident investigation location stats but lump them into over all highway (404, 403 & QEW) numbers. Wonder if Doug will respond to my last tweet to him on this as as he did weeks ago on the so called Clean Air Test... (That was a no brain'er as the Province was covering millions of dollars in tests).

Best Premiere since Mike Harris even though Harris erroneously instituted Drive Clean. What sensible person could argue with fewer Councillors, killing cap and trade, cutting green energy subsidies, a teacher report line, a public sector hiring freeze - maybe he'll break his promise and fire 100,000 of 'em…….and privatizing pot sales. Hopefully the LCBO, HOV lanes and front plates will be next!

I would like to see the removal of the tolls on the 412. It's always empty. They should have a non toll north-south access in the east just like the 410.
I know it will never happen.

i don't think that is owned by the province. I think Mike Harris sold it all off ironically and is the same company building the 412 I think

You can still buy Malathion in Ontario, which is the cheapest way to kill grubs, and "Weed Be Gone" with 2-4-D in Alberta, New York, Michigan and Massachusetts.

From Brock Rd to it's eventual end at 35/115, it becomes the 407 Toll which is owned 100% by the Province.
All tolls are handled by the 407ETR and it is maintained and policed by the province.
Durham region did argue that the 412 & soon 418 north/south connectors should not be tolled by the Province refused citing that it only existed to provide access to the 407.
Effers!
And yes, I buy weed killer & grub out from the US

The 407ETR from the 403 to Brock Rd, Pickering is owned & operated by Cintra-Spain (43%), the CPP Investment Board-Canada (40%) & SNC-Lavalin-Canada (17%).

There are those in Southern Ontario that believe the stretch from qew at the end up to the 403 was originally and still should be the 403. ( me included ).. Because they made it part of the 407 everyone avoids it, the Oakville Burlington and on past the Ford plant continues to be a nightmare. ( the secretly even renamed the Burlington Oakville stretch of the QEW to 403. ) what a pile of crap .
