Winter Storage Suggestions
Hi All,
Looking for a reputable place to store my 911 come November in the GTA area. Wondering if anyone here uses a location they would recommend.
I'm located in Toronto (east end).
Thanks!

I bought my car in Feb and wanted to store it to in May. I chose Elite Auto Storage in Oakville and was pleased with their work. It’s warm building, secure and the car on batterymaintainer. It was outside ready for me and detailed. I paid $200

Most of the high rise apartment undergrounds are 1/2 empty. I'm paying $100/mos and $85 to $125 is the going rate in the Yonge & Eglinton area. Cheaper the further out you go. Only disadvantage is no plug for trickle charger.

I thought about that and wondered about self discharge and implications to the car electronics when I fire it up in the Spring. I read somewhere that the ECU has to relearn calibrations when battery power is pulled. Such as replacing the battery, I know that an issue with BMWs.

I stored my 911 at Elite for 4 months this year. Worked out well, no issues.

Consign your car but ask ridiculous money. Kept in a nice toasty showroom that way. ;-)

I bought a triplex with a detached 2 car garage so I could store my cars! Planning to rebuild the garage with a laneway house apartment above it next year.
Not as easy as paying for it to be stored but a great long term option! 😉

Disconnecting is not an issue, with one exception... the frunk. If you latch it fully, you need to know how to use the built-in jumper. It's not a problem for anyone who's even moderately technical. When you reconnect in the Spring, you'll get a couple of warning lights. They'll clear on the very first short drive, or even sooner.

^ Indeed, not a problem disconnecting and removing the battery for Winter storage. When re-connected all warning lights go off before I exit the storage location.
