Default Wallet on highway 400

I just got a call from my wife. She accidentally left her wallet on the roof of her car, while gassing up. As she left the King City Onroute heading north on the 400, she watched as it fell off the roof of the car into the centre lane.

I've filled out a lost and found entry on Kijiji, with a reward stated. Are there any other routes I can take? Have any of you gone through something similar?

Yes, had the wallet stolen last year.

It’s pretty easy and painless to get replacement docs and credit cards.

Contact Hwy 400 maintenance crew and detail where the wallet was lost. They may go and look for it.....

For future reference of anyone going through the same thing, apparently the answer is:
1) file a report with your local police department for lost wallet/identification
2) contact the OPP if the item is on a 400-series highway, and they will alert cars in the area

MTO won't do anything. Maintenance won't do anything. Animal removal won't do anything (it was a leather wallet... maybe a stretch...)

Also, don't google "King City Police Department", then call them, then get forwarded to the Highway Patrol, then get confused that there's a highway patrol in Canada. Then realize you just spend 10 minutes talking to people in California... Don't do that.

I did exactly this. Saw it fly off the roof if my car on the 401.
Within the ten minutes it took me to get off an exit, loop back and pull over. Everything was pounded to smithereens.

I found a wallet floating in my boat slip at the cottage.
It was full of money, cards and driver license.
I tried googling, facebook. Really I had no idea how long the wallet was floating for.
Finally, I took a 20 out of the wallet and couriered it, with receipt, to the address on the driver license.
Never found out if it was received.....

Hope you get the wallet back.
