Default 4-post lift maintenance - hydraulic oil

I am thinking to change the hydraulic oil in my 4-post lift because it has never been changed since it was installed 5 years ago..... The label on the lift said to replace the oil with Mobil DTE 24 but I am having a hard time finding where to buy it. Any ideas ? or alternatives ?

I've never considered replacing my lift oil. 13 years now. Maybe I should? Though if it's not contaminated (water) I'm not sure its needed.

Never occurred to me either but then I guess it depends on use to some degree.
I suppose if your using one for storage only (up/down once or twice a year) there's probably no point.

Mobil DTE 24 is just a ISO 32 hydraulic oil, any ISO 32 hydraulic oil should be perfectly good...easy to find

I remember when I first got the lift installed 5-6 years ago, the hydraulic oil looked fresh pink in color but now it is a almost brown in color so I am thinking it need replacing ? No ?

Maybe we should all look at our owners manual and see. I'm too lazy.

Kinda reminds me of the "you should flush your break fluid every 2 years thing".
Having said that, next time I'm there, I'm going to ask the guys at Oakville Porsche , who have the same DirectLift that I do, if they change the oil every 2 years.
They do use their lifts a lot more than any of us commoners after all.

another thing to consider is the climate the hoist is operated in, climate controlled shop vs humid/hot/cold home garage

Personally I think you are wasting your time.
It's a closed system that goes up and down 20 times a year.
Twice a year is maximum maintenance for a lift that goes up and down 20 times a day.
What could go wrong? lol

Change the oil. I didn't and had to send a cylinder to a centre less grinding shop to get the pitting removed. Also, get the best hydraulic fluid available.

My lift had quite a bit of squealing/chatter so it was recommended to go to CAT and get a hydraulic additive specifically for this. It worked perfectly and my lift was very quiet after.

Bet they have no idea as they likely have third party maintain them
