A big problem here is... "where is your car during and after the snow storm?". If it is parked in the street you have to move it when the snow removal team arrives, often they do both sides of the street and many streets in the same area will be signed as no parking for the period of the cleanup. If you have off street parking, no problem... take the métro till the snow is removed. If your car is parked in a zone to be cleaned tow trucks drive by blowing their horns so you can run out (after putting on a pair of pants if it is in the middle of the night), try to find a place on a recently cleaned street... or drive around till the cleanup is done. Oh ya, you better have dug your car out before hand if it was a big storm, or if the snow plows have piled up a furrow of snow between the road and your parked car... which may have been wet snow which has now frozen into a solid block of ice. Just sayin'
But there is still nothing as beautiful as a serious winter storm in Montreal!

Depending upon where you live in Toronto, Toronto might actually be an even split in terms of winter harshnesh between a Montreal winter and a Florida winter.

And those roads. They’re terrible.

With snow tires and a backup car and an ability to keep your 911 in the garage whenever you need to, you’ll be fine. Depending upon if your street gets plowed quick you may not be able to get the car out when you need it. And block heater!!!!
