Default Noob here

Hey everyone , My name is Kevin and I picked up a 1986 944 last weekend (Sat May 26th), It needs a little love and I am doing what I can but I would like to know a place I can bring it to for jobs that are over my head. I am in Mississauga but I don't mind driving anywhere around the GTA. Here is my list so far. If anyone sees anything missing from the list please feel free to add a suggestion as I am a noob.

A/C - done holy heck this needed to be first lol
Shocks&tie rod - ordered through local mechanic
Sunroof seal - ordered only944 - I am sure I can get this one done lol
Short shifter and linkage - ordered only944 - I will need help with this for sure.
Rear hatch bump stops - ordered only944 - seems like it will be easy.
Rear hatch adjustment - needed I need to look into this as my hatch opens up while driving from time to time.
Window rollers for power windows - ordered Pelican parts
Front license plate mount - needed not sure where to look?
Plugs, wires, distributor air filter - needed seems like a good place to start for a tune up.
Timing belt, water pump, injectors - needed not sure if needed but I am running rich and I smell gas.
Armrest hing - needed
Radio aux cable - needed prob just going to delete the radio all together and just use an amp with Bluetooth hidden somewhere.

Hi Kevin. My 1st Pcar was a 944 and I enjoyed it greatly. What year is your car? it looks like its wearing Fuchs and those are nice, If you have a garage you can work in thats going to be a big bonus as these cars demand attention. Anyway ask away, there's lots of people here who can answer questions. Again great find.

1986 No garage just working in the driveway for now. The wheels were one of the reasons I chose this one.

Welcome aboard, nice car!
In the Mississauga Oakville area you have a couple that come to mind. Hunter Motorsports is near Dixie and Dundas and Mantis is on Speers in Oakville, both have a reputation for knowing the older cars.
Enjoy, maybe I'll see you driving around!

It never happened to me but there is a vent tube off the filler neck that comes loose.

I wouldn't wait long to have the gas vapor checked out , that could end your love affair in a flash !.

I am sure you will find out Porsche shops are very expensive. I would certainly suggest investing in tools and knowledge will be far cheaper once you get a garage.
I had an S for 10 years and loved that car.
if you are up for it and handy you may want to consider your CV joints. get them repacked / replaced.

also make sure you are on the tech forum for your car , this is more of a regional events forum where we complain about the price of gas, politics and generally just bust each others *****

Welcome, and congrats on the purchase! I had an 83 944 for a couple years and loved it, even though mine was a bit of a rat. Make sure you have the Pelican Parts forums and Clark's garage page in your bookmarks. These cars are pretty simple to work on, and parts are pretty affordable if you're not in a rush. Though yeah, lack of garage space does make that a bit more difficult. Not impossible, though. Most of the stuff you listed is pretty simple DIY and can easily be done in the driveway. Sunroof seal sucks - I replaced mine and it still leaked in the rain. I ended up siliconing it closed because I never used it anyway. Radio replacement is very easy. Plugs, wires, etc. all no problem to DIY. Between Pelican, Clark's garage and youtube you'll find all the instructions you need. Amazon and ebay have become good sources for parts as well as the usual places. Good luck!

Take your time.

Part of the zen of P ownership is what is yet to be done.

American car? Did the CDN 944 come with headlight washers?
I DD'ed an '88 944T for 15 summers. Lots of fun.
Let me check my back shelves for stuff. I think I've cleaned everything out.
My brother may have some stuff.
