There s a huge range of price on them. This one has a base price of $175,900 plus tax. As specced $203,500 plus tax. However, if you don't want a V8 the price drops a lot and you still get loads of performance.

I take it you didn't like the look of the V90 for $135,000 less...

There are lots of great alternative vehicles including stuff like AMG wagons that give more performance for a whole lot less money. It is a very quirky choice that makes no logical sense. ! Like a lot of stuff I have bought.

As much as I would like to be a wagon guy, I'm generally not. I totally get the utility - almost everywhere we use SUVs, wagons would be superior. It's basically the utility of an SUV (or better, actually, unless you're off-roading) with the driving experience of a sedan. What's not to like? But I just haven't yet been able to convince myself to enjoy the look.
I think the Panamera Sport Turismo might be an exception though. I don't love it, but I think I at least like it. What's more, I like it better than the Panamera sedan, which always looked to me like it kind of wanted to be a wagon, but didn't quite make it.

I always thought that the Panamera tried too hard to look like a sort of giant 911 at the back and failed badly. The wagon deals with that issue. Porsche does not expect this to be a big seller and I get that it’s not for everyone. Should be a good long distance hauler though. There are more practical performance wagons like the AMGs and many will find them to be a better choice. I just like this car

No towing. Am hanging on to the Cayenne which it tough as old boots. Also, the rear deck os actually quite small. I measured the thing and it no good for a Great Dane, so the Cayenne will hang around until the there are no Danes left...

By all standards a much better choice. Any rational person would go for the performance and the much more usable space. Huge amount more bang for the book.
I just tend to buy irrational cars

The Cayenne is built tough. My Turbo is an 05 with 320k on it now, other then the electrical headlight gremlins and plastic coolant parts has been great.

Yes..Mine has 230k on it ( Cayenne S V8) and has done a he amount of long distance towing..maybe 50k overall and has been amazingly reliable. Still solid as a rock.
