Well, it looks like the buyer couldn't get the funds together. Was supposed to get back to me by noon today...so, back on the market at $104,000 Cdn certified.

Wow that is terrible. Just need to get the right buyer. I lucked out on my GT3 as a deposit was put on it but the buyer couldn't get his finances straighten out. I not sure how the thought process is for buyers are but I go in with money ready and a set budget so if I find the right car I can grab it immediately.

Worse comes to worse hang on to it till spring if you can.

If only I had the room lol

Exactly what I was wondering. As he took away the opportunity for you to sell it to others.

I would worry about keeping the deposit. There are some crazy people out there. Two people that have backed out in less then 2 days of a purchase. Did they both get to “test drive” the 993?

Thanks guys...buyer emailed and asked to speak to me at 4 pm...i’ll Post an update.

First buyer never saw the car and to be honest, I doubted whether he would follow through from the start. Second buyer came and drove the car. Said it was exactly as described and made the offer, but said that he needed until noon today before fully committing. He offered a ‘couple of thousand’ deposit. But I said he didn’t need to leave one. He insisted, so I said $500. If he backs out, i’ll Just rip up the cheque. I know it will bring more in the Spring and I have had 3 US Rennlisters contact me this afternoon. The US market is much stronger than ours.

Note to those who hesitate to buy a US 993 because of resale fears...my car would be sold 20 times if it were an American car! The Duty scares most US buyers off.

duty is only 2.5% going to the US so it should be not a big deal.
I hope your deal goes through but...who makes an offer and says they need a day or two to be fully committed? sorry but doesn't sound good.
Too bad as I am sure it is a great car and price. Good luck, fingers crossed for you.

Thanks Danny. Duty is now 2.85% as they added another charge at the border. I didn’t believe it at first when TFX told me that and checked myself.

Got off the phone with the buyer...he had a busy day and couldn’t break free. Says he is taking the car and will send a bigger deposit tomorrow. Fingers crossed...he sounded quite serious and seems to be a nice guy. Will post what happens...
