You're expert in this but for the rest of us it's a pretty daunting notion.

Expert is a big word, i dont do this as a living.
But i work with experts!
I own a repo company and a powersport/rv dealership.
987part is a 3rd company that helps pay the 6 digits racing fees per year 😉

Let's assume that the car was repaired flawlessly.
What do you all think the fair market value for this vehicle? I'm guessing that if i can pick this one up for a fair price, the price wont drop any further and i will still be able to enjoy the car for few years and sell it and not loose money on it? I dont know, just getting different idea lol.

They will hold value.
If you track the car many times per year? Why get a collector car for $k more?
You will beat up the car.
Go see the car and make him an offer in person. Money talks, not phone calls

"holding value" is a big ask for a salvage titled vehicle. IMO, buyer beware on US salvage titled vehicles imported to QC. Apologies in advance for my statement, but QC dealers/sellers have only themselves to blame for this bad rap.
Do your research. VAG is a decent shop, but you will never know what the real deal is here.
On the other hand...might be a fun purchase if it bloody drives straight or doesn't fall apart on the track, lol.

Three Wheelin'
Lot of "generalization" in this post, not good for the seller or potential buyers. It's never a good idea to post negative opinions without proper evidence, tomorrow it could be your sale item that people will run into the ground and then you won't feel as "empowered".
Look at how defensive people get just based on the manufacturer so this thread is a reminder of the same:
