Almost never driven. Comes with snows. Great winter beater.

Jamie,

Can you keep it and drive it for another couple years at say 20,000km/yr and then repost this ad? I may be ready then....

I have an order in on a 2018 Golf R, but no one seems to know when they will arrive in Canada or what the MSRP will be.

I'm curious to know what you DIDN'T like about it.

MSRP is out.

Should be deliverable for November.

I love my 2017. No complaints here for a daily driver.

No complaints at all. It's great. It's just that after missing about 5 987 Boxster spyders by minutes, I over paid for the latest one on BaT and I'm going to use it as my Sudbury car.

It's a nice car. Just boring IMO. I daily a 2013 Mini JCW. Much more direct / sharper turn-in. Obviously a lot less practical and versatile.

Also, a $40,000 Golf mostly felt like an optioned up $15K car to me. Just felt kinda cheap for the money.

I do like them...just not what I ultimately wanted.

Drove a Mini Cooper for 8 years. Now enjoy a GTI. Mini's start at $22000. They are just as "optioned" up.

Fair enough, but at one point every car cheaper than your P car will not live up to standards. I test drove an RS3 a few weeks ago and I felt the interior was cheap and it was 63k...a coupe years ago I would have been happy with it.

Doesn't the R model come with the bucket seats ? I found them a little awkward to get in and out of for a daily driver / family vehicle

Indeed. I should clarify I bought the Golf R new and thought it felt cheap for $40K. The most recent 2013 JCW was bought used in 2017 with 20,000km on it for for $24K.

I'd be inclined to get a stripper GTI for $30K.

Agreed. It's kinda the same thing with the RS3...$70K version of a $30K car...

I don't want to make a big deal out of it...Golf R is nice...just didn't turn my crank.
