Default Porsche 964 stolen in Japan - input needed

(also posted in the 911 forum)

Hi guys

After having bought a few cars from Japan over the last 7-8 years, I experienced some problems two years ago. I bought a 1992 911 (964) Carrera 2 for a friend at a Japanese auction through my contact in Tokyo, Japan, a very nice car with only 63.000 kms (40.000 mls). I received the invoice, paid the car and waited for the shipping info which usually takes a couple of weeks. This time around, things took longer time than usual, and after 4 weeks I understood that something was not right. After another week I was told that there was an incident they were trying to resolve. Apparently the car had been stolen from storage before it was supposed to be shipped to Europe.

I have been very patient as my contact has supplied me with some very nice Porsches over the years and has proven to be trustworthy over time, but now I feel I'm running out of patience. There have been a lot of e-mails back and forth (I have all of them saved, of course), but there are always some new excuses why things aren't being resolved. The insurance company has been blamed numerous times because of the tsunami and that they had a lot of outstanding claims from that, but the tsunami was in 2011, the car was stolen in 2013 and we are now in 2015. I also have a former, Japanese colleague stating that things are back on track after the tsunami and that there shouldn't be any more delays/problems with the insurance company. I will have to get my old colleague "up and running", but I was hoping that there might be someone here as well, who might be able to help. I am in a position where I simply cannot wait any longer, and I need to find out what has happened and need to resolve this on my own. Right now I don't know exactly where to start and would be very happy if someone could point me in the right direction.

The chassis number of the car is WPOZZZ96ZNS403584 and it is a 1992 964 Carrera 2 in Slate Grey Metallic/Schiefer metallic

My e-mail is christian@928gts.no

Thanks for reading, hope someone might be able to help.

Regards,

Christian

Hi

Just wanted to follow up, to warn others:

The case is still not resolved, Mr Shea does not want to share any information regarding what happened with the car, what insurance company he used etc.

The seller is Colin Edward Shea, an Englishman possibly still living in Tokyo, Japan. I am not sure where he is right now. His company is/was called Tokyo Car Club and/or Tokyo Auto Trading, 2-10-8-417 NISHI-GOTANDA , SHINAGAWA-KU, TOKYO 141-0031 JAPAN.

I urge you to think twice before buying anything from him, I would not transfer any money, not even a deposit as he still owes me JPY 2.5 mill, approx €20.000,- or $ 22.000,-

If anybody has any kind of information about Mr. Colin Shea, his Company or the car - WPOZZZ96ZNS403584, please let me know. I can be contacted at cskleppe@gmail.com If you have any questions, please e-mail me.

Thank you for your time.
