Abandoned idea of RUF: can't get a straight answer on customs and duties, paperwork is all in Thai and beyond me and the maritime blue C4 was priced too high.

Looking at a 964 3.3 turbo tomorrow, so we'll see what happens. I think I will dread the turbo lag but doesn't seem like I have much choice at this price point.

OK bought the 3.3 turbo. Yes lagsville galore...not instantaneous torque like NA cars, when the boost comes the car hauls a$$ but it doesn't last for long before you hit red line and have to shift again. subsequent gears are fine as its in the power band. This just means having to downshift if quick overtaking is required from cruise mode. I guess i would get used to it soon enough or at least forget what an NA car feels like abd accept it

Nice!! Pzull, Post some pics... btw, where did you pick your car up from? And did they have any 993s/996s?

Oh, I looked into importing my car, now it appears they are no longer importing second hand cars into the country.... WTF

Bought it straight from the owner. You can import THE car that you have been using overseas for at least 2 years. But the customs/duties still makes it more epensive than buying from here.

Here is a poor pic of the new old car and my old old car:

After initial research, stuff that I plan to do:
1) 3.2 Carrera Intake
2) 993TT injectors
3) K27 hi-flow turbo
4) Autronics engine management
5) Uprated Fuel pressure regulator
6) Custom header and exhaust
7) Corner weighting/lowering ride height (Bilsteins) - car looks liek a cayenne now
8) clear signal lenses/new rear lenses (cracked)
9) Front splitter (can't find the one I'm looking for yet) but looks like the one in GT-Racing website
10) MA Shaw rear biplane wing (from my last car)
11) New wheels (one existing wheel is cracked and welded) leaning towards TE37
12) NEw tires (Michelin PS2)
13) Front bumper air intakes
14) New front hood shocks
15) 3rd brake light (dont like the 993 one) need to hunt for a discreet generic one

Just to tide you over, here are some of my old old old car after being done up (but you can't see the important mods: custom exhaust, 24 way adjustable leda coilovers, ruf brakes, etc):

Better peek below at dual exhaust fully equal length symmetrical design.
The Ruf brakes are essentially the turbo brakes I am told with a Ruf logo sprayed on. Rotors are cross-drilled. Better than stock for sure but still they fade under track conditions and that's with brake cooling ducts
