Any Singaporeans out there? Please help your mate here...
I have been away for almost 5 years... and will be moving back (S'pore) soon.
Are 968s, 951 or 944 used cars still available in Singapore?
I intend to buy one and modify it with my current parts.
Still contemplating... please help.

From what I know, there are only a handful of 944 Turbos around in Singapore. As you know, after 10 years, most cars disappear after scrapping. In fact, there was a 968 Club sport which was scrapped and exported less than a year ago!
My advice is to contact Porsche Club Singapore for the best estimate of numbers.

We did exchange emails before - when I got my Lindsey kit!
Try contacting "pzull", a contributor on rennlist. In the meantime I will also try looking for someone in Singapore who can help you in your query

Tks for the reply.
Pzull, 951 going for 55K? I assume the COE will expire in 2008? I can not remember the rules in singapore, but can any car be kept for more than 20 years?

They can be kept forever so long as you pay COE every 10 years and send for inspection every year. Road tax gets progressively more expensive and reaches a peak of 150% at year 15.
Dunno when COE runs out on the 944T

The June 12 trackday has been cancelled for some reason. That is unless you have a WRX and want to join the Scoobies!
Would love to join you in Mersing, and I heard from Kwok Jen that there are a couple from PCM who will be joining you as well. I will, unfortunately, be confined to a short burst up Genting this weekend as I recover from foreign travel.
Have a good tom yam!

Where do you normally travel to? Work takes me to BKK and JKT quite regular and now KUL looks like it would be often soon

Short burst of SPEED! And that's to describe motion, not some designer drug!
We should catch up when you're in KL. But work takes me out 3 - 4 times a month, mostly to 12 a-pac countries - bkk, jkt included. Still if you're ever up in your car in the weekends, there's an unofficial drive practically every Sunday.
