im sitting on a pdk Cayman R, ive seen Seb J post a 2.17 on his manual car.
what is the fastest lap on a pdk spec cayman.
im trying to figure out if im gonna strip it down and make it a gtb 1 car.
i currently have a 2006 cayman s that is getting me 2.22 and maybe a 2.20 with more time. i dont think it has much left in it after that.
just trying to figure out what rabbit hole im going down next year.
thoughts?

There's a reason why GTB1 is one of the most expensive classes to build for. The level of preparation, tuning and optimization at the pointy end, not to mention talent, is absurd. Harold, Frank, the list goes on and on.
Be careful what you wish for. Good job, so far. But there is a BiG difference between 2:22 and 2:20, even more to duplicate and do MANY 2 second quicker laps than you've done every time out and MUCH more difference to drop from 2:20 to 2:17-2:18...
Don't be a captive to a lap time. Raise the quality of every fundamental skill execution in the car and the time will come. Again, there is no car that cannot be driven quicker by somebody else...

the reason im asking is, if i tear the car down and build it, i dont want to waste money... lol,
on building a car that isnt to spec for some class.
i dont want to build a DE warrior car, unless at the end of the day, that's what happens. i dont want f it up.
i might race in a few years (3?) so i need to build it properly..
dont know but i will PCA bound.
im in the info gathering stages and you guys are the go to guys.
hats off to all you guys. one day, drinks on me.

Biggest difference between some drivers in gtb1 is tire budget.
4x set of tire per we ive noticed, but must of them will run 2x new sets.
Lot of folks use coaches and do data too.

I run a PDK Cayman R in I class and race w Jimmy. that sebring time is cory hahah.
I class is growing and a ton of fun. Sometimes you are the fastest class in group (VIR) or among the very slowest (Watkins Glen)
always fun to play w fast H cars (Ryan) SPC (Manny/Matt) or the slower B1 cars
i class still quite spendy but a hell of a lot cheaper than B1
