Very true, but a 10 minute drive most directions out of Charlotte yields the middle of the by god south. Source... I am from NC and lived in Charlotte for many years when I was younger.

Side mirror and angle of it's mount is a good clue.
Also the lack of a rear diffuser suggests to me more Ford Focus than Mazda 3 but difficult to tell.
