Summit Point race poll
We are trying to determine the preferences of the the drivers. Last year we had 2 sprints on Saturday, a morning sprint on Sunday, and a 1 hour enduro on Sunday. Points races were both the Sunday races. From the feedback I have received most people would prefer a more traditional race schedule with one race on Saturday and one race on Sunday as the points race. Also would you like to see a 1 1/2 enduro as opposed to a 1 hour?

I'll take as much track time as I can but it is usually easier for folks if the points races are not on the same day. 1.5 hour Enduros are better than 1 hour Enduros plus they allow 981 Caymans to participate as they usually can't make it for 55 min on one tank of gas.
BTW - PCA Club Racing rules stipulate that the last two races are the points races.

I plan to run summit this year. It'll be my first time there...probably run in the vintage group. Not running enough PCA races for points to matter. Did the vintage group get the same # of races?

Not hijacking but just putting this out there. There will be an open track day for practice the Thursday before the Summit Point PCA race weekend. It will be run by Summit Point management. I'll let everyone know when we get closer so you can sign up.
Hope to see everyone there.

Vintage group had 4 sprint races over the weekend and the same amount of practices as the regular groups. TONS of track time.

Having two sprints on Saturday and a 90 Minute enduro on Sunday works best IMHO. The second sprint on Saturday and the Enduro are for points. Sprint 1 lap time qualifies you for Sprint 2. The best lap from Sprint 1 and Sprint 2 qualifies you for the enduro.
A timing consideration - for the lower budget racers (SP and SPB) the best turnout on Enduro's is when it's in early morning before lunch. That gets most people home that day with less travel and missed work cost. When it's after lunch - I've seen attendance fall substantially. This just happened at Road Atlanta - because of the GT4 Clubsport introduction we were after lunch and lost 50% of the field because they went home Saturday night. Really sucks when you have 22 SPBs show up for the weekend and 9 SPBs are racing the enduro.
Thanks.

Hoping to make the race this year. As far as 3 sprints plus a 60 min enduro, vs 2 sprints plus a 90 min enduro, I liked that format when I last did the race in 2013. The third sprint had originally been a practice session then in 2010 they made it a race and turnout was good for both that and the enduro.

We got 4 sprint races instead of the enduro on Sunday. Plenty of track time and lots of fun. Look forward to racing you at Summit!
