Default PortAventura aka "Ferrari-Land" opens April 7th

Start your engines. On April 7, Ferrari will welcome guests to Ferrari Land, the newly built sports car attraction just an hour southwest of Barcelona at the PortAventura theme park.

Ever wanted to take a spin in one of the fastest cars in history? You're in luck. Ferrari Land will be home to five rides, which from the looks of it will all be painted in the brand's signature red. Clocking in as the tallest roller coaster in Europe, the Vertical Accelerator will launch riders up a towering spike reaching 368 feet at 112 mph in just five seconds.
If speed isn't enough for you, you're likely to enjoy being spontaneously shot up towards the sky on another ride, the Bounce-Back Tower, which resembles the bouncing movements of engine pistons. Of course, an automotive amusement park wouldn't be complete without its own test track, and visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of miniature Ferrari cars and navigate a 1,900 foot circuit.

Ferrari isn't short on panache, so the design of the theme park is all cars, all the time. A sea of varying Ferrari models, including Berlinettas, Californias, Speciales, Italias, and Spiders, along with select Formula One cars will line the streets of the faux Italian village. The scene will mentally transport visitors to Italy, where the heritage of the brand lies. With the help of a reproduction of Ferrari's own automotive production line, guests will get a sneak peak into the hallowed halls of the legendary factory in Maranello, and see how each car is carefully assembled. Access to Ferrari Land from PortAventura is available for an additional fee.

This isn't the first time the Italian supercar manufacturer has dabbled in luxury theme parks. Similar to Disney Land and Disney World, Ferrari Land will be the smaller counterpart to the original Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, which opened its gates in 2010 and will have an impressive 43 rides by 2018. Looks like Barcelona and Abu Dhabi are next up on the motorhead bucket list—you'll just need a plane to get there.
