I'm glad you posted this because it was exactly what I was about to post. There's one guy over on Pelican who is constantly pumping the wavetrac. When pressed it comes out he has never driven any other car of any kind with a performance differential in it. He is convinced that the Wavetrac is the best thing ever, but he has nothing to actually compare it to. All he really know is that it is better than a stock open differential.

As for a group buy? Sorry boys, I'm a wholesale business because very few people own the $5000 worth of tools and have the dozens of hours needed to learn how to set these things up. Backlash is measured in 1/100ths of a mm. You get that wrong and a year or less later your ring and pinion eats itself because of the mistake. I have installers versus dealers of my product.

In Jupiter there is Rodger at Orbit.

I have Giken in my street/track 987.2 Boxster S.

On the street I don't notice it at all except once in a great while in reverse when turning.

On the track the improved stability under braking is FABULOUS.

I'm very pleased with it.

I have about 10k miles and 25 track days with it.

Zero problems

Im a good mechanic and a half assed race car driver. I built a 996 that had a Wavetrac in it when acquired and ran it last year so I have some experience actually racing the Wavetrac the car was always a handful under braking and lockup was inconsistent at trackout. I installed Mats unit a few weeks ago and tested it Friday. HUGE difference. I wasted a year with the Wavetrac. The OS Giken unit looks to fussy to me, lots of unnecessarily parts. Get the Guard unit and don't look back the price difference is minimal.

This is interesting to me as I have an OS Giken in my race car and have run it for four years, iirc, in a 968 box which has put up with over 430 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels with no problems. The lsd works well for me. Gbox put it in the transaxle along with some external oil cooling. I know the Guard is a great unit as well but I would go back with the OS Giken for another transaxle.

All I can say is that I like it when my competition races with an OS Giken! I am running a ZF LD with a bunch of Guard parts. If it ever breaks, a Guard is going in its place.

Any installers in DFW, TX? My unit is in need of a rebuild.

Buckley or Rennsport Porsche Workshop. Warren has kept the latter place open even though Mike Callas passed last year.

Personally I like the 20/100 diff in my 964cup. The full lockup under decel let's me be way more aggressive while trail braking.
