Default Track insurance for $40K car and a lot of events

Last year was my first year on track. I did 17 days across about 7 or 8 events plus some autocross.

I share the car with my brother. He did about 8 track days spanning 4 events and 3 autocross.

We plan to do even more this year.

Who do you think offers the most cost effective plan for this type of use?

I have a few track buddies that decided to go with Open Track. They insure the car, (higher limits on car value than Lockton) not the driver, IIAC, and this means your brother should be able to drive without an added premium...also, Open track does not make you register with them for each event, makes life easier...not much is known about their claims payouts.......

Lockton has been around for a while. Good record on claim payments.......

There is also Steve, a PCA member, he has "On Track Insurance", IIRC, awesome guy, no bs...BUT he does not cover in Canada, if you decide to go there.

I'm in pretty much the same situation driving 9 to 12 events a year. OnTrackInsurance.com is who I insure with although I pay per event and you can get multi event packages at a discount. I have inquired with Opentrack.com but they have a minimum of $75,000 value coverage which didn't work with my vehicle

Open Track seems to have a min 100K value to insure, has that changed?

Many HPDE cars I see (and drive) fall below that value threshold.

Hi Steve- do you give discounts to those on Rennlist? Or PCA members? I’ve been using Lockton this year for a multiple event policy but need to add a few extra days for more HPDE
