funny... yonks doesn't look nearly as cool as these guys on their boat
all kidding aside, Ill repeat what I wrote on the other thread
I had the pleasure of driving this car, and know the time, effort, craftsmanship and $$$ that went into the build. Yonker bought this rust-free California donor car a few years ago and had his Yoda (Peter Dawe) build it over two years to his own uncompromising specifications (incorporating modern go fast bits like the JRZ triples while still maintaining the aesthetic elegance of the long-hood hotrod lines and interior). It is definitely not for the timid; this car is absolute beast and one of the most frighteningly fast and raw cars I've ever driven. Perfect car for the guy (or gal) who wants a long-hood hot-rod that can actually be driven hard as these cars were intended. Nothing cooler than blowing by a GT3 on track in a 40+ year old car, and then actually driving the car back home afterwards (that was really the intent of this car.. the ONE car that does it all).
I was with Yonks when he shook the car down at summit point in October. I think he did maybe two sessions. So the car probably has less than an hour in total on the drivetrain since the build was completed.
This build was the brainchild of Peter Dawe, building what he felt was the ultimate Porsche for a guy like Yonker or himself (totally off their rockers). He's definitely taking a bath on this deal. His likely transient serial monogamy infatuation currently with boating is your gain. Definitely legit no-expense spared build for a real driver who can handle it (no bells and whistles... if it didn't make the car faster, lighter, or more raw, it wasn't done). Pretty much exactly what I would have done if I had Yonker's wallet and a few more screws loose.
