PBOC & Winterfest at Sebring
Thinking of doing PBOC at Sebring in January 2017. Interesting schedule.
6 Hour race into the night, practice the night before
Enduro the next day, practice and Qualify same day
30 min Sprint Sat
30 min Sprint Sun
(or something like that)
One sprint a day Sat/Sun doesn't seem that much fun. I guess those days are really for DE. But I am intrigued by the 6 hour and enduro race Thursday & Friday.
Schedule aside:
Wondering what experiences people have had with PBOC and in particular the longer races? Seems there is a very wide mix of prepared and essentially street legal cars running??
Opinions welcome

ran it 2 years in a row in a cayman and then our cup car. Won our class each time, third overall each time. Just could not win it.
Big disparity in speeds.
Well run event, similar to PCA. Track not well lit. Classes are based on weight and horsepower but huge speed differences in R3, which is basically a gtb1.
One year it rained the whole time, did entire race with 1 set of rains. The next year took 4 sets of stickers and we double stint the tires.
Each year we did it with just 2 drivers, be easier with 3 drivers.

uninformed gas bag
(contemplating on whether gas bag is one or two words)

The six hour race starts in the afternoon and ends up in the dark. Not really a night race. When I was there they seemed to be a bit more malleable with respect to driver qualifications then a PCR event

PBOC runs great events. I believe they run a shorter enduro within the 6 hour enduro (check the rules) so you can do an enduro and not run into the darkness. The sprints have always been good. IMHO the PBOC events have less carnage than the PCA race 3 weeks later.
