Default 2016 Japanese Grand Prix

Historically Lewis seems to have Nico's number at this Suzuka.

Who will win?

I think Lewis is going to come out swinging and **** on Nico's parade.

Hammy
Nico
Ricci/Max (can't decide)

Smoke from Nico's engine in FP2 but commentators deemed it "normal". Hmmmmmm. Looked like a 1982 Honda I once owned with 250k miles on it, but OK.

I'd agree and throw in the Fezzas. It will be the minor placings that make this race interesting.

You were correct - I thought Hammy was going to dig down and pull something out. When he stormed out of the press conference because the reporters didn't like his snapchat filter I knew my prediction was in trouble!

If Nico can keep his head screwed on right it is his to lose!

I don't see how Nico loses the championship without at least 1 DNF.

Tells you how bad it is when Lucas Luhr taking a leak gets 35 posts and the Suzuka F1 race only six.

There was actually some good racing from second place back. I agree with Hobbs on the 2017 changes: wider cars and tires are great; more aero not so much...

Ok so let's talk about the block Max put on Hamster into the chicane. Good move or just plain crazy?

I think it was ok. He only made one move. It's for position. It's not like he has to relent. These guys should know what to expect from Max and make the appropriate counter move.

As far as more aero - they should know from past experience that it makes passing more difficult because it disturbs the air more and takes away downforce from the following car. Then we'll get complaints that there is no passing and the races are a procession.

Agreed, passing is so tough now if you are the trailing car and need to get any grip out of a corner. More aero is just going to make it even more a case of follow the leader and less exciting than it is now... At one point I actually thought Lewis would easily take P2 and possibly make a run at Nico then he got behind Max and the stupid lunge move aside it was like he was stuck behind a truck on a one lane road. There was nothing he could do out of the final corner to get a run even with DRS. Suddenly his car lost all it's composure.

I had no issue with it, neither did Lewis or Toto, Lewis asked to have the protest Mercedes filed withdrawn and Toto said it was hard but he wanted the rules clarified. Lewis should have known it was coming, stupid place to make a lunge pass but as I said in my post above, he couldn't seem to get any run on Max out of the final corner even with DRS so I am against any more aero, I want more wheel to wheel! I like Lewis and Max btw you knew Max wasn't going to give an inch, it was a strange place for Lewis to try to make the pass.

that is what running out of laps/time does... it forces you to take the risk or accept your spot...

I think he took a calculated risk and knew he was going to take the exit road if he couldn't make it work and thus had no risk of losing his track position....

Totally legal move, he made one move and stayed there under braking. If you can't deal with that, get a new job
