Default Any ortho docs on here?

I have an issue I'm looking for suggestions on. In my right foot I have a cracked "sesamoid" bone in the ball of my right foot. I've had it for probably 30 years, and just lived with it.

Well now it is causing me problems with my driving. Specifically: I have to press on the brake hard with the ball of my right foot in order to do heel/toe effectively with my Spec Boxster. It is painful when I brake.

So my question is: Is this repairable?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Jeff

Well, there is Ortho Joe. Probably others.

I think the easiest thing would be to have the offending sesamoid excised.

After 30 years, I doubt you're going to get that to heal. I think removing it is the last option, only if all else has failed. Are you pretty sure that's what is causing your symptoms? Not a neuroma, etc? I would try antiinflammatories (Motrin/Advil/Naproxen) and a bunch of padding to see if that helps.

Have your girlfriend/wife pee on it. Let us know if it improves.

sometimes the "cracked " sesamoid is a congenital condition and not a fracture. Anyway unlikely to get it to heal now. agree with advil, padding etc, last resort surgery

Step 1) Buy new 991 GT3 with PDK Step 2) Learn to left foot brake. If that fails there are many people here willing to pee on you at the races to help you through the days.... Good Luck
