Didn't TRG do something similar a few years back in GrandAM? I seem to remember they withdrew their cars from a race citing the performance disparity, then they got some performance improvements and were back at the next round for the remainder of the season. So it worked at the expense of some championship points.

I'm not sure if looking at fastest race lap is a sufficient comparison of performance. There are a lot of other critical factors like tire wear, fuel economy, driveability, etc that strongly influence overall pace throughout the race...

The Leh thing sounds like a separate issue. At least the way it was reported as an "off track" issue. It would be great if he found a ride for Petit!
