Default Vintage comes to Summit Point PCA Club Race Sept. 23-25

Vintage comes to Summit Point PCA Club Race Sept. 23-25, 2016.

Yes, Vintage Porsche race cars - just like Rennsport Reunion!!!!

PCA Club Racing was started because PCA drovers had nowhere to go after DE and PCA was losing racers to other groups. Alan Friedman was tasked with creating the Club Racing so our members could stay with PCA.
But over the years PCA has not been a popular venue for those with older cars.
PCA wants our cars (and racers) back.
Not only is this Vintage race at SP to honor Alan Friedman and Potomac region where PCA CR was born, it is a first stab at getting our older Porsche race cars back into PCA Club Racing. It is hoped that the Vintage class will become popular and expand to other tracks.

So if you know of an older Porsche race car, please let the owner/driver know of this special event.
Let's hope for a great turn out!

Note: there is no DE, just racing. Vintage cars will have their own special dedicated run group (practices and races).

If you have a Vintage Porsche race car as well as your more modern "regular" Porsche race car, bring them both, double the fun, race in two separate groups. FWIW, I have done double duty at Sebring, Watkins, VIR, Road America -- and it's a blast doing the double!!

I think you may need to check those dates, I have Sept 23-25 listed as the track dates. I'll be there flagging.

That's a shame... VIR Gold Cup same weekend. Big vintage event, always a pretty strong P-car turnout.

Alan was a longtime SVRA member by the time he founded PCA Club Racing in 1993. Pretty cool to see what it has become!

Let's get those Vintage Porsche's to PCA CR at SP.

Here is my Vintage (fake) RSR at Rennsport Reunion V, along with Alan Friedman's green monster.

I pushed for this class with PCA for almost 10 years to no avail. Ironically I'm now going to park my '72 after a big impact earlier this year. The value of the cars and lack of parts availability have me looking to move to a 944 for racing. Most likely sell the 911.

Anyone towing from Long Island/NYC area to Summit? I bought 2 wheels and it would be great if I did not have to get them shipped. They are small 15", without tires. PM if you could help. Thank you.
