I always had issues with my old CS and I even used my drain kit to be sure it was pumping before I went out. I solved it by buying a fairly high end bilge pump (under $100) and sticking it in there. Never had a single issue after that, would shoot water 6' out of the drains! I'm having my shop do the mod on my new CS system while it has the car as it quit on me during the WGI race...

I think my CS box may need this fix, but the file is no longer available. Can anyone repost it?

I just reached out to Cool Shirt to get the directions again. They were on our old site but didn't copy over to our existing website.

If the pump is bad, you can just replace the pump for $99. We have those in stock here and Cool Shirt already drills the hole in the tube to prevent the air lock issue.

Does anyone know if this is a problem with all Comet pump designs?

Sometime in 2016, the Comet pump changed slightly from the manufacturer and were susceptible to developing an air lock. Cool Shirt discovered the issue and has corrected it going forward but sent out the bulletin for those few where the pumps did not have the hole drilled in them to prevent the air lock. You can contact Cool Shirt with your serial number on your cooler and they can tell you if there were any issues with the pump on your system. Their number is 800-345-3176 .
