That's like, just your opinion, man.

I think that feeling the g force in the corners, going for lap time improvements from your last event, and working on aspects of your driving is what everyone pays for at DEs. So, I'll take 70F and partly sunny any day of the week

The thing about wet days in the Northeast is that there is no shortage of stuff to hit at every track except NJMP if you get it wrong. I am not going to practice car control or skid recovery at Palmer, or WGI, or LRP (ok, maybe the lefthander). So unless you are at NJMP and can fool around a bit, it is mostly trying to see where the grip is, and then keeping your car off the wall/rocks. Not the most rewarding of days but it is what it is.

Excellent Lebowski reference, man.

I will admit that my willingness to play in the rain is encouraged by the lack of stuff to hit down here in Texas.

I use blue painters tape to cover the electric switches so they don't get water inside. Other than that, if you go fast enough... the water flows over the top of the car

Towels and keep a pair of dry shoes that you out on once you get in the car.

If rain is likely, I leave the 930 home and take my wife's Boxster 😳. Problem solved.

Really? When else can you consistently step over the limit in every corner in a DE and not get tossed out. Racing in the rain is also fun but the risk does go way up since you have to worry about everybody else. Not directed at you but if you can't drive in the rain, you can't really drive well.

Some rain will go in the back seat, so "secure" a big towel back there then use it to dry of the rest of the interior once off track. Rain-x or such the windshield before each session to limit wiper use if light rain.

Park strategically to keep feet / soles of shoes dry as possible, dry off once in car with shop towel before going out for a session.

I love DE in the rain. Most people don't do it so the run groups are pretty empty
and you really find your flaws.

I was with PCA / GGR at Thunderhill in March and it was pouring.

I've had a couple of memorable wet weekends.

I've never passed this many cars in two laps before:

The track nearly flooded over at T13

+1--did a (real) wet lapping day at Mid-O earlier this year and there were no more than 6 fools, I MEAN CARS , out there at any one time....it does give me a sense of satisfaction knowing that I went as hard as I could (while still remembering that it's a DE and I have to drive the car 300 miles home) in those conditions, and I do feel that it helps your car control skills as you will be sliding the car if you're maintaining any pace at all.

And I LOVE sliding!

^ Mid-Ohio in the wet gets interesting.

Back on topic, I don't have any solution for not getting the interior wet, but I also never noticed it become a problem.

And staying off any painted surface is mandatory. If you NT-01s have 4/32 of tread, possibly even less, they may work OK. No heroics in the wet...I'll never do it again...too spooky, not knowing what could happen, and where.

I did take a set of street tires, man did they suck...I'll amend the post with the brand name, far worse than the NT-01 tires.
I was at this same event on NT-01's - and I was amazed at how much grip they have in the damp. Puddles - not so much. But we were able to go at a really good speed in the rain (windows down...) and really work on car control. Quite fun actually. What WAS scary was the drive home on the freeway, when it really started to come down. Sliding around on NT-01's on a wet race track = fun. On a LA/CA Freeway = no way! I pulled off (windows up ) till it stopped...

Nice save......it can be dicey going across the track down that hill after doing the rim shot for Madness itself....T10 is similar in that way.

Rain...that's nothing! I went out in the snow at NJMP at Metro NY's event back in Apirl.
